You are almost producing from space

Your licence key arrives by email from Lemon Squeezy (check spam and promotions if you cannot see it). Download the installer for your system and follow the 4 steps below: five minutes and you are running.

The download links live in your purchase email and in your customer area. The buttons below take you there: sign in with the email you bought with and you will always have the installers and your licence key to hand.

This is the same for all our plugins: the Astra Sampler FX subscription and the one-off ones (A-2A and A-Vocal FX). The versions shown below are the Sampler's; every plugin downloads its own from that same place.

Activate the plugin in 4 steps

Before you start: your system will tell you it does not recognise the installer

Our plugins are not yet signed or notarised with Apple's and Microsoft's paid certificates. So the first time you open one, your system will show a warning. It is not a virus and not a damaged file: it is what macOS and Windows do with any program that does not come from a company with a certificate. Here is how to get past it:

On macOS: double-click the .pkg file. If you get a notice saying it cannot be opened or that Apple could not verify it, press “OK” or “Done” (not “Move to Bin”) and go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. Scroll to the bottom: you will see the installer's name and an “Open Anyway” button. Press it, confirm with your password or Touch ID and the installer starts. You only need to do this once.

On macOS Sequoia and later the old right-click → Open shortcut no longer works: System Settings is the way.

On Windows: if SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC”, press “More info” and then “Run anyway”.

  1. Install the plugin

    Open the installer you just downloaded (.pkg on macOS, .exe on Windows) and follow the wizard. Install the formats you use: VST3, AU (macOS only) and, when the plugin ships one, Standalone.

  2. Open it in your DAW

    Start FL Studio, Logic, Ableton or your DAW and load the plugin: the Sampler as an instrument, the A-2A and the A-Vocal FX as an effect on the track. If it does not show up, rescan plugins in your DAW's settings (or restart it). You can also open the Standalone app if the plugin ships one.

  3. Paste your licence key

    When you open the plugin you will see the activation screen. Copy the key from your Lemon Squeezy email and paste it as it is. You only need an internet connection for this step. Remember: your key covers 2 machines.

  4. Done: go and produce

    Drag a sample in, put the vocal through the chain and say hello to the Cosmos. Tag us at @astracreativeaudio with the first thing you make: we listen to all of it.
